Distinction House of Jewels

Custom-Made Jewelry

You bring the idea. We build the rest.

A sketch, a screenshot, a ring you saw on someone's hand — since 1986 we've been turning rough ideas into finished jewelry, built around your stone, your budget, and your finger.

The process

How custom actually works

No mystery, no pressure, and no obligation to proceed after the first conversation.

  1. 1

    Bring an idea

A photo on your phone, a sketch, or a piece you own that you want something to match. You don't need to know jewelry terms.

  2. 2

    We talk it through honestly

Karat, stone, weight, setting style — and what's realistic within your budget. If your idea won't wear well in daily life, we'll tell you before you pay for it.

  3. 3

    Price and timeline up front

Nothing begins until you agree to both.

  4. 4

    Made here, by hand

In our own shop — not ordered from somewhere else with our name on it.

  5. 5

You see it before it's finished

Adjustments are far easier before the final polish than after.

Custom gold bangle designed to a customer's budget

Budget-first design

Tell us the number. We design to it.

There is no minimum for having something made — only what can be made well at each level. We adjust the karat, the weight of gold, and the stone to reach your number honestly. Nothing is quietly thinned or lightened to hit a price; where we make a compromise, we say which one and why.

A custom piece made to your real budget will almost always beat a ready-made one at the same price — none of your money goes into a display case, a middleman, or a brand name.

What we make

Made for the moments that matter

Engagement Rings

Engagement Rings

One customer drew hers on the back of a receipt. It became a European-setting solitaire in 18k yellow gold with a knife-edge band — one of one, in the world.

Wedding Bands

Wedding Bands

Made side by side from the same gold: one design in two sizes, engraved inside where only the two of you will ever see. Couples usually come three months before the wedding — earlier is better.

Religious Jewelry

Religious Jewelry

Sacred Heart and Miraculous medals, crucifix pendants, patron saint medallions, and gold rosaries in the weight and karat you choose — made to be handed down, not just worn.

Baptismal & Christening Sets

Baptismal & Christening Sets

Tiny gold bracelets sized for a newborn wrist, safe clasps, the child's name or baptism date engraved. Order ahead — christenings don't move.

College & Class Rings

College & Class Rings

Your school's seal, your course, your year, your initials inside — in real karat gold, sized properly, resizable years later. We handle group orders for blocks and orgs too.

Men's Pieces

Men's Pieces

Signet rings, heavier comfort-fit bands, solid curb and figaro chains made to a weight you choose, cufflinks, and rosaries in a masculine scale.

Made to Match

Made to Match

Earrings to match a necklace you already wear. A replacement for one lost earring of a pair. A second band matched exactly to your partner's. Bring the original in — we work from the actual piece.

The Ring, Made Again

The Ring, Made Again

When a much-loved piece has worn past repair, we remake the same design in a heavier weight — and the old gold goes into the new ring. You keep the design and the gold. You lose only the damage.

Settings explained

Hong Kong or European setting?

Hong Kong setting

Stones sit low and close together, packed so the surface reads as one continuous field of sparkle. Catches less on clothing and takes daily wear well. Choose it for maximum sparkle worn every day, or if you work with your hands.

European setting

The centre stone is raised on claws, lifted clear of the band so light passes underneath. The classic solitaire look — it shows off a single good stone far better than any low setting can.

We make both here in the shop. Come in and try one of each on your own hand — the difference is far more obvious in person.

Karat guide

14k, 18k or 21k?

14k

≈58% gold

The hardest and most scratch-resistant, paler in colour. Best for rings worn every day, especially if you work with your hands.

18kOur recommendation

≈75% gold

Rich, warm colour with enough hardness to hold stones securely. Our recommendation for most engagement rings and wedding bands — the balance point.

21k

≈87.5% gold

Deep, unmistakably yellow — the traditional choice for gifts and heirlooms. Softer, so better for necklaces, bangles and pendants than daily-wear rings.

A simple rule: the more the piece will be knocked about, the lower the karat should be.

Bring your idea in, however rough.
